Change order of inputs: "Where ball was hit" to come just after "Type of Hit" and "Single/Double/..." should come last after the "Where ball was hit"
I grew up scoring baseball and softball with a scorebook, as most of the people in my league have. The order of events after Ball in Play needs to be reordered for simplification. The order should be:
1: Ball in Play - no change
2: Type of Hit (ground ball, fly ball, etc.) - no change
3: Where the ball was hit (LF, SS, etc.) - should come up in the order of events to the 3rd input, as you know where the ball went before you know if it’s a single, double, out, etc.
4: Outcome of the Hit (Single, Double, error, FC, …) - should come last.
I find myself watching the play to the end to be able to score the hitter’s outcome -and- I’m missing the full view of the field. If it’s a long play, lots of throwing errors, I forget where the ball was hit to. Changing the order of events is the more natural way to score the game, and keeps the scorekeeper more in tune to the full game.
